when i was in los angeles for a few days last week, i took a lot of photos…as i do…but with my “sesame says” course running, my commercial clients, and my life… i have not had the chance to sit down and actually edit them all. here are a few. i can’t believe how grown up these two are getting. it was so amazing to have a chance to spend some time with them.

this past weekend, my kick-ass husband rode 210 + kilometers for charity and gemma made an adorable “go, daddy, go” sign for him and we waited to wave it for him at the finish line. look, isn’t it cute, oh wait, that’s right, the photos are unedited on my computer and will stay there for at least a week if i keep up this schedule. she really wanted to take some shots to school to share with her class as well, but see, the printer ink, well, that should arrive in the mail just about the time i finish editing the photos.

it is at times like this that i really, really, really miss instant cameras and film. luckily fuji has introduced the instax which will be the perfect camera to toss in your bag just like that old pola…um…pola-something camera that is no longer being made.

here is what you do to have your chance to win the totally awesome fuji instax camera (generously provided by photojojo.com) and start having your memories in your hand right away…

leave a comment here on this blog telling me a time when you really wished you had an instant camera.

COMMENTS ARE CLOSING AT 5PM (MELBOURNE AUSTRALIA TIME) FRIDAY OCTOBER 23 – i then will go through each and every entry and post the winner as soon as possible…check back!

COMMENTS ARE NOW CLOSED!  Winner announced on the blog soon!

(NOTE: comments left on facebook don’t count so make sure you click through and are actually leaving a comment on the blog!)

after you leave your comment here, make sure you take some time to click on over to the photojojo store and see all the other awesomeness they stock!

I wish I had an instant camera every time my husband is deployed so that I could take and print the photo and pop it in the mail all on the same day instead of having to upload it to Walgreen's, wait for it to arrive in the mail (or worse yet, make a special trip with my two and three year old in tow) and then finally send it off in time for him to see how big they were last month. Yes, that would definitely be handy.

One time (out if many) that I had wished I had an Instant camera was when I watch my little sister Lauren, she's 4 and she loves posing for the camera, but with the attention spand of a 4 year old it is VERY hard to capture most of those moments she is posing for the camera. I would love to have an instant camera (hint hint) for when my little sister comes over to visit with me and my brothers. And I would love to be able to carry around a camera that isn't flashy and doesn't draw attention to itself or me. and instant film? verrrry convenient. :)

I wish I had an instant camera for everytime someone asked me for a photo of my daughter. I'm great at uploading, however, procrastinate at editing and sending it away for printing. If I had an instant camera, I could take the photo right then and there and then hand it over to whomever was asking!

I wish I had an instant camera mostly everyday, but the one time I wanted it the most was when my mother was at the ICU after she lost a lung and we didn't have any pictures, nor a digital camera to take some and print, to tape on her bedside. I was so scared that she would forget our faces, mostly my dad's, since we could not visit her every day. If I had an instant camera that day, I would've taken pictures of all her favourite things and the rest of the family, just so she could feel more at home. (:
Thankfully, she didn't forget any of us and is now healthy again :D

At our wedding, on every table. It would have been a fun way to entertain and engage the guest! I love your blog and can't wait until I have the time to enroll in one of your courses. Your photos always amaze me.

An instant camera would be cool, if I was shooting silly pictures of the neighbor kids, because I never get around to making prints of the photos I do take. It would also be cool to be able to have prints of my flowers to share with my SIL. We are both flower nuts.

I love the Instax camera because it has the nostalgic feeling of a Polaroid. I absolutely love the frame around polaroid pictures. It adds such an artsy affect that many digital designers always reuse in their designs. I love the old past time look of the instant camera. It would be so useful for me and adds so much artsy design to my work!

I really wish I had an instant camera ALL THE TIME!! I really like to scrapbook and make things for friends, so having an instant picture would make it SO much easier and way cooler!! And it would be way easier to give pictures to people instead of printing them out!!

I am always wishing for something easier to carry around than my D700, but something better than my crappy camera phone. Plus, I've never had an instant kind of camera like this, so how fun would that be??

I wish i had an instant camera so i could take pictures of my new life in New Zealand (i just moved here from the UK) and send them like postcards to my Love who lives 12,064 miles away so he can see all of the magical/unusual/different things over here.

last time i wish i had an instant camera was this past weekend (at the gathering after my grandma's funeral). I have terrific memories as a youngster of her taking polaroid pictures and just loving to watch the images appear together…..instant pictures would have been a lot of fun and a great distraction for all of us at the gathering celebrating her long and full life…..

I would have loved to have a camera at my sons first Tuesday School field trip. They sang songs, visited with the elderly residents, and ate snacks. I had rushed over from my full time job and of course did not have my big camera in tow. I missed that important day! A smaller instant camera would have helped a lot!

I went to college in New York City. One day I walked into a deli and there was Jon Stewart – on whom I had an enormous fan-girl crush. He was SO nice to little old me – who of course had no camera to document this momentous occasion. I only have the memories…

I wish I had an instant camera to give photographs of playdates to the parents of my daughter's friends when they come to pick them up. I always find myself recounting all of the adorable things they did together and words just do not give justice. Processing and emailing them photos is too cumbersome. A few instant photos would make a great little thank you for bringing their daughter over to play with mine.

Wow to think of one reason why one of these would be an amazing addition to my life is almost impossible! I am the picture taker of my entire extended family and i cant even count how many times i have missed a picture because of trying to wrestle with my big camera. having somthing there to conveniently click and print would take hours away from my day of being a mother of 2, aunt to 4, wife to 1, daughter to 4, sister to 1 daughter in law to 2 sister in law to 5! Ad on top of that, photographer, party planner, maid, cook, shouffer, butt wiper, teacher, and friend! My life is packed and this would just grow my inspiration to photograph more subjects and more locations! thanks for the chance!

i had an emergency c-section when my daughter was born and she was a month premature so she went straight into the NICU. they wouldn't let me leave my room for 12 hours, so i didn't get to see her for 12 hours; it was torture. had we had an instant camera i could have had something tangible to hold on to and look at while waiting for the hours to pass to see her with my own eyes.

I really really do wish oh wish I had an instant camera, if I had one it'd be the best thing ever! I am an on the go type girl who loves to snap some instant silly photos of my toddler cousins, crazy friends and that spur of the moment you-wished-you could-have-captured-and-have-as-blackmail-evidence-moment!

when I REALLY wished I had an instant camera…..my boy has a lot of earinfections and colds so when we recently went to get a prescription for him, I also bought some extra vitamins and these came with a free harmonica, a wooden one for kids!? Well what do you know, with the high fever and all, the expressions, that look when he blew air in it and out came these tones and tunes! Hah, here I was with my 2 children on my bike, daughter in backseat, him in front seat, in his winter coat, hat over his wee ears, strong wind, already getting dark, and him playing that music (inhaling and breathing but music he he). It's hard to explain (esp. in a for me foreign language) but it was so good!
What I would really LOVE to do is let my daughter take photos with it. Since I saw people using Polaroid for '365 grateful daily' projects, I have been haunted by the idea. The words '' We worry about what a child will become tomorrow, yet we forget that she is someone today" Stacia Tauscher – motivate me even more.. I just know she'll love it.Exciting contest!

Last spring, I was putting gas in my car when I spotted a young man and his prom date precariously looking at their front tire. The young man was dressed in his tuxedo on the ground changing a flat while his impatient date kept stood with hands on hips and tapped her high heals while dressed in her finest pink-sequenced gown complete with a maching corsage. I wish I had an instant camera with me so I could have handed her a picture of herself waiting in a huff and tell her "this too shall pass, and your prom date is obviously a good guy for ruing his tux and working as fast as he can to get you back on track."

I would LOOOOOOVE to win this!! I have an SLR.. but like someone else said, I don't always lug it everywhere I go. So I miss so many photo opportunities.
To have instant photo's to share with people would be AWESOME (particularly with a little bubba)!

That said, I really wish I had had one when I was in NYC.

I wish I had an instant camera about 4 years ago. My daughter and I were sitting on a park bench watching my then 11 year old son tip-toeing over to a park bench on the other side. We curiously looked as we saw he was trying to catch a chipmunk. In his left hand he was holding out an acorn as if he was going to tempt the little creature. Well, the next thing we knew he threw the acorn straight up into the air and quickly grabbed the chipmunk and held it in both his hands and he yelled with joy.."Mom!! I caught a chipmunk!!" In comes gravity… the acorn dropped straight on the top of his head causing him to look up in the sky and unsuspecting that he had set the chipmunk free..he lost his balance and fell on his back and the happy chipmunk bounced on his chest and across his forehead as it scurried away. That was truly a picture moment!

Great giveaway! I would love an instant camera for the everyday moments with my family, So many times the kiddos are doing something new/cute/funny, and I don't want to use my pro camera b.c I know the images will sit on my EHD for weeks/months etc before I have the time to edit them. And let's not even talk about printing said images :) An instant camera would give me an immediate memory of that moment – no more excuses for not grabbing the camera, and no more searching my hard drive "Where are the pictures we took at your cousin's wedding of the kids pretending to break dance?" etc. You get the idea :)

i would love an instant camera! i was so sad to see the polaroid film taken away. i used my polaroid camera all of the time. there are just times when you need an instant photo! We recently moved 3,000 miles away from family and friends. From east coast America to West coast America… every single day is an amazing adventure and it would be amazing to take instant photos of our adventures to mail back to family right away.

Amazing contest! Good luck to all :)

I constantly wish I had an instant camera around! More specifically, I wish I had one most of all when I'm with my teenage daughter and her friends. They're more likely to allow me to photograph them if they get instant results.

I wish I have an instant camera every time I see my family. We only all get together once a year since our family is so big, and when we do, its pure photography madness. I always try to get pictures with my younger cousins each year, but they're always either A) taken by my uncle and he always takes ages to upload them anywhere (he uploaded last years about 2 months before this years reunion) or B) taken with my camera, which means my little cousins never get to keep a picture of me with them. When I was a the reunion this year, we decided to make a Wal-Mart run that night just to get a few pictures developed for my cousins to take home, because they wanted them for their scrapbook, and to print aout 20 pictures was like, $8.00. Having an instant camera would allow me and my cousins to never have to worry about having memories of the times we get to spend together , since they'd be right at hand.

I always want to have an instant camera with me when I'm photographing kids.
The expression on their face when you hand them their picture is so gratifying – the magic of photography comes back to me all over again. They love seeing their photo develop and holding the picture in their hand. I feel great because I'm sharing – and the kids want to share the pictures too, they can't wait to show them off. Digital is great for pros, but too many .jpgs live out their lives unseen on hard drives. An instant camera is still the best way to commemorate & share the goofy little unscripted moments that make up our lives.

I wish I had an instant camera for several reasons – ummm…not having to lug around five pounds of camera equpiment on my back just to take a quick snap. Or because the sun was SO beautiful rising the other morning and my cell phone shot didn't do it justice. Because there are so many moments I miss because of the above said refusal to tire my arms and back with the shooting goods. But mainly, because I want to remember days. I want to post them on my favorite things board and smile when I look at them…just as I used to do with my Polaroid camera my grandmother gave me. I used it when I was a little girl and now it's mine, but it just sits pretty on my shelf. I'm also an instant gratification girl so the fact that a camera can give you an instant print makes.me.GIDDY. K x

I have wanted one for years, even when my now adult children were young but it was never meant to be. This would be ideal now that I am a Grandma for all those beautiful moments when my big camera just would not bewith me, and the instant picture, oh what joy!

Pride not only pays more in general and on average to their fighters, you have people making obscene amounts of money (i.e. Ogawa vs Yoshida, Wanderlei vs Mark Hunt, Fedor vs Cro-Cop). Even with QJ making it to the finals in the 2003 GP and headlining Pride 28, he most likely made a damn-good pay check from that, something else I doubt the UFC would be willing to offer, let alone be able to pay QJ.
