the last light of the day is about the only time

by sesame on January 8, 2010

that clover is allowed outside without a hat.
poor thing is at risk of either melting or just bursting into flames at pretty much any other time of day and such a pity since she loves to be outside.
now can we talk about the boy for a moment…
for one thing, the hair. the hair is outstanding. outstanding and in desperate need of a cut.
secondly, i was not kidding about the car obsession. he sees wheels and must lie down. now, it is either from being overcome with sheer joy or for a better view, i am not sure.
he can spend hours on the floor just watching the wheels. some sort of future mechanic savant?

and gemma. oh gemma. five is such a complicated state of being.

Again my son is just like Keiran, Every time he sees a car and plays with it he has to lay down on the floor. I think it's to look at the wheels specifically.

both my boys were the same with the wheels. for my oldest I could tip back the stroller so he could spin the front wheels and that would occupy him for as long as it took to do whatever I needed doing. I organized/ordered elfa stuff for two entire walk in closets doing that!
beautiful shots, as always.

that's so funny about your son and cars … my son (who's a month from 7) explained to me that there were kids who loved cars and kids who loved superheros … he was a superhero kind of kid and jake (the boy in his 4 y/o pre-school class who prompted this conversation) was a car kind of kid … they just couldn't play together :)

oh it's a boys thing alright! My nephew did the same at Keiran's age, and now he is almost 11, he is a car racing freak (it's all about Ford) he races the scalextric cars and loves go carting. I tell my bro in law to get him into it so he can go Formula 1, one day. But unless he has a measly 2 million and contacts laying around…lol
Love the shots!… and yeah..five is complicated! My daughter turned 5 in oct, the cogs in that little brain are forever turning. Check out her question to me on my blog, lol. I didn't expect that one.

Cute pictures. You can see Kieran's obsession with the wheels! LOL! Clover is cute and looks so happy to be outside. Gemma looks so serious! Is she always busy thinking about stuff?

not sure how I got here, but just stumbled to your blog, your talent has totally delighted and inspired me that I totally forgot I was going to watch a movie tonight, now that the kids are in bed. Thanks for sharing your keen eye with the world.

My son does that laying on the ground playing with his cars thing. He loves watching the wheels drive. For his 2nd birthday, we gave him a little kiddy tool kit and that has added to the fun of playing with his cars. Now he can fix them!

That last shot of Gemma is stunning!
