don’t hate us because we are boiling hot

by sesame on January 10, 2010

it is hot enough to fry an egg on the sidewalk…which we may try to do later in the day for fun and because we can. i could use a pan and call it cooking. hey honey, want eggs for dinner?

hot enough to blow our good carbon rating as well. we will (shamefully) be sitting in the family room with the air conditioner going and the tv on…it is going to be 43 degrees today…that is about 110.
i need to keep clover away from any windows in case she gets a mere proximity sunburn.

i am also beginning the redesign of the blog today, so please excuse things if you show up and it is all wonky…it takes a lot of work to look simple.

in the mean time, wander on over the internet to click “like” for Sesame Ellis!

and if you have not already, take a look at the new blog for Beyond Snapshots to get some photo inspiration.

The last time it was 110 in Sheboygan was 1995. It was the wickedly hot summer, where people died by the hundreds in Chicago, which is why I remember. My AC would be on, too.

Wish I could say 'it'll get better' for Clover skin problems, but they'll be pretty much the same 20 years from now. I, for one, am not ashamed to be with my air conditioner on and off the sun if it means my skin will still be attached to my body at the end of the day, took me long enough to be selfish about this.

I know what you mean about costing much time to look simple! Your blog looks great. When my blog grows up, I'd like it to look a lot like yours (my photos, too)

i don't know if this has been covered on your blog or if this is the best place to ask, but are the majority of photos shot by you done with natural light? i can't get over them. seriously amazing. i love the creaminess that your kids skin has- it's so yummy! :)

I love that new header of yours! It is amazing how you manage to blog as often as you do AND have three young kids!

43 degrees?! That's a 60 degrees difference from where I live, earlier in the week it was even colder here, and you could throw hot coffee in the air and it would turn to ice while in the air.

I am British living in the States now for 13 and a half years. You used the word 'wonky'. I love that. It's a word, possibly used in the UK more, but a word nonetheless that should be used in everyday conversation.
