in daily life

clover would like you to know that her mother would like one or both of the 2 new nikon lenses that were released today.  ok?

super.  thanks.

while the release of these lenses makes for more choices in my quest for a great W I D E lens, it does not seal the deal.

i will now take forever to make up my mind.  i do not spend money lightly and those lenses, they are lots of money.
i feel like a little kid who has just seen a commercial for a new toy and like that child, i want it yesterday.
also like that child, i will not be getting it anytime soon, but i can lick my screen.

photo info:  shot with my widest lens…the 28 focal length on my old 28-105mm f/3.5-4.5D.  it is not a pro lens, but the one i pop on my camera when i am just taking family vacation photos…not the sharpest for client shoots.

Drooling over the 24mm 1.4! Food thing I don't have a FX and the 2200$ in my account. OUCH! That's a lot of money. If someone sends you one, let me know if it's worth it. For now I am content with my Nikon 50.. 1.8, 85mm 1.8, and Sigma 30mm 1.4. :)

Amanda, just out of curiousity… what camera base are you using with your Sigma 30 1.4? I've been thinking about that one too…

Oh my goodness. I was just about to dash over there and buy myself a 24 1.4
And then I saw the price.
Holy Moley Cow!
I am despondent.

Wow. That 24mm 1.4 lens looks AMAZING! I want!

I love her expression in this shot. Heh. I can almost hear her!

There's a softness to this shot that I love. Is it the lens or something you did in your processing?

it was a little processing stuff that i was playing around with. i had to save this shot in raw as it was BLOWN out.

i think that was more for love and harmony in the world than a new lens, but i'll go with it. maybe i should start a vision board!

the 24mm 1.4 is expensive, but it would be a sweet lens!! wonder how it will compare to the 12-24mm 2.8 zoom? they're in the same price range … surely nikon could let you test one :)

I had the good fortune to try the new Nikon 24mm f/1.4G and 16-35mm f/4G VR at PMA in Anaheim yesterday. I really want the 24mm f/1.4G for myself. Here's a link to a shot I took with it on a Nikon D3s:
