our house hunters episode aired last night and so many people are saying how wonderful melbourne seemed…i just want to say, it is. it really is. i love being able to hop on a train and go into the city. such a clean, vibrant and artistic city. we are so happy here.
i miss my friends and family dearly, but hopefully they are all busy booking tickets now.
today peta, the twins and i popped into the city for a play date with kate (of tea and jam photography) and pepper lou. i think kieran had a bit of a crush. we explored a bit and then had a wonderful lunch.

we were all back home in time for school pick up.
i know that we made the right choice with moving to melbourne.

I watched the episode, too and your wonderful personality shined! just as it does on Flickr and your blog. Melbourne does seem wonderful and watching the episode made me want to visit!

Looks like you all had a nice time! I can't wait for summer again and being able to go outside without a jacket on!
i, too, watched your episode. it was so neat to see you all "live"
and watching it made me want to move to melbourne even more than i already want to!
The House Hunters was fantastic and thanks to Flickr and your blog(s) it was like watching an old friend on an adventure! I am so happy you are at peace with your decision. Enjoy!
I just want to pinch those little cheeks!! How adorable
It doesnt matter where you live. As long as your with your husband and children your always home!
Did you get a copy of the taping? I have it saved on my DVR for another few days.
thanks! we did get a copy!
Wow, well Rachel i need your help. Me and my parent want to move to Melbourne,Austrailia. We want to know if it would be a worth it to move from Orlando,Florida in the U.S to Melbourne. And your opinions would help to thanks.
there is just too much to answer in that question. it has to be the best thing for your family and no one can decide that except your family.
I just moved to Melbourne yesterday(to study). First impression of the city has been great, so I can't wait to get to know the city more
hi, and WOW. How did it take me so long to find out abut you? I am an Aussie living in the US, twins with an older sister too . Found you via Flickr. Your children are beautiful…and SO CLEAN (the gorgeous light in your photos makes them sparkle-). I know I can learn so much from you, I'll be spending heaps of time online with you this year. I am sure by this time next year my photos will be much improved.

Loved the episode and the choice you made.
My husband and I do not have cable so we literally get like three channels so I had my friend DVR your episode. I went over last night to watch it and only 9 minutes DVR'd… I was so bummed. It is back on for the rerun to record. I can't wait to see it…
And a postscript…I was telling my friend about this pretty blog I had found with this amazing US/Aussie photographer with twins…and dang if my 10 year old pipes up with "Oh!!! I saw them on House Hunters mum". gee, I hope they repeat that episode soon.

Coming over to Melbourne for a long weekend tomorrow – been in Oz for 18 months and not been out of WA yet! It does sound like a nice city, a bit more cosmopolitan than Perth, which is nice but somehow still a bit immature I think. I'm staying pretty much right in the middle, so if you have any tips for non-traditional 'must shoots' then let me know! We'll be the ones with the array of Holgas and Trip35's! I've been kinda following your move over here from when I first stumbled on you Flickr photostream – I'm glad you feel like you've made a good choice, your blogs always sound very positive, even on the days that must be very challenging. This is a lucky country and a great place to call home
I just saw the House Hunters episode and love your new place. I will be following your blog. =)
I stumbled onto your house hunt on house hunters international the other night. i was wondering if you ever changed the stair railings?
no, can you believe he got his way? no pool either! i should really do an update!
An update would be awesome! I would love to hear about behind the scenes too. I figure you aren’t allowed to talk about it, but it would be interesting. I watch House Hunters International to live vicariously through people in other countries. I’m glad you will be writing more about being an expat. I figure the adjustment isn’t the bed of roses in my imagination.
