while they get along great most of the time, there are the other moments of frenzied biting when i think they need a DMZ.

sometimes i catch myself thinking “gemma never did that” and then i remember that gemma is
A) a different kid…all kids are different despite having the same parents. i get that
&
B) did not have a sibling all up in her stuff ALL THE TIME and ohmygod it must be annoying when you are too little to know how to say “Back the hell up and get your own toy.”

I love these shots of those crazy babies. glad you got some photos in the last giant size of the wondersuits too.
Hehe, Clover is biting in kierans rabbit, and kieran is crying.
Such a perfect moment to show everyone your kids are normal kids too !
she is actually biting her own rabbit. and i am pretty sure he is just yelling…he does that a lot.
Beautiful shots! I love the light from the window.
lol clover is so smart building that wall….. love that crazy little girl….poor kieran its ok.
love their matching footie pjs!!!
their expressions in the last picture is pefect, he is laughing/screaming while she bites her bunny!
That is precious!
These are absolutely adorable! I love how you always capture them in perfect moments!
Can you tell me about your interior lighting? Is this shot will all daylight? I have yet to see a lamp in one of your interior shots. I have low lighting in my house; no overhead lights in most rooms. Except for our kitchen we get little daylight through the windows too as we are surrounded by evergreens.
I noticed in most of your interior shots the decor is all white. Do you have suggestions for those who have more visual clutter?
I love the color in this photo; the outfits matching the blue outside. Did you alter the background color? Or just notice the clothes matched and set it up?
this is all window light…that room is just all light. as for visual clutter, I suggest just moving things out of the frame. I have been known to take photos off the wall for the shoot. Those are just the jammies they had on…lucky.
Can you tell me: how did you compensate for the backlighting? I have a hard time with that when shooting with windows behind my subject. I can't seem to get this light quality; your subjects look surrounded by windows, not just in the background.
the room is very light filled…there are windows to the front and camera right.
Clover looks quite pleased with herself.
I love that he immediately loses interest in the book when she starts in with the pillows. These are too fun!
I LOVE these… She looks so gleeful in the second, and he looks so contemplative of his next move in the first–they are AWESOME together! Great story.
You're making me want twins. My 8.5 month old started out as a twin and I sometimes wonder how things would have worked out. It would have been a lot different! But who knows, maybe next time…..
it is so so so different than having just one baby. and it is a struggle for me at times. i love them both so much, it is just full on.
Lol! How funny. Of course, Clover's very pleased with herself. Is Kieran doing better? < 33
Give them my love, adorable little ones. <3
Ariel~
This is hilarious!!
I love how those two shots just tell a story! Clover planning the pile of cushions to be on 'her' side on her own.
oh rachel, you capture the BEST moments with these babies of yours. these photos are some of my favorites of yours. gosh, the colors, the happiness, the babies on a couch, so so previous.
you inspire me to photograph my crazy family more….i too have 2 year old twin girls and a son who is 4. it is damn hard to shoot them. i can photograph everyone else's kids but mine!! they know all my 'look at me' or 'stay still for one more second' tricks. They just see the camera now and the action stops. i need to dream up some new idea's cause they are so incredibly cute and i am in desperate need to capture it all…..i am getting into a shooting frenzy with some not so co-operative kiddies….
any key advice???
just keep shooting. mine know all my tricks too, i rarely even bother to ask anymore.
