Clover went for a follow up appointment with the metabolic doctors who treat her and she had to have something like 9 tubes of blood drawn. She is a baby rockstar. Seriously.
I really love the care that we get here. I am so thankful for this system. I am not going to argue with anyone about it, I am just deeply grateful for the ability to get this level of care for our daughter and not be worried about how we are going to pay for it.
I think that little Miss Clover Jane loved the attention she got from having me and Peta all to herself today. It must have been so strange for her…a twin without her twin. She has been milking it though. I bet Kieran is loving not having to share attention at the grandparents’ house too. Spoiled babies for the day. They deserve it.
(took these photos with the beloved Sigma 24mm f/1.8 lens on my d3…just held it in front of us as we crossed the street and snapped these two moments.)

Her shorts and that backpack. Too cute!! And what a brave little girl!
She looks so happy! Children are very brave, much braver than adults I think. I must agree with you, I think our system is great. We have had to go in ambulances, have emergency surgery and so many tests for one of my sons who has a kidney abnormality and it for the most part we haven't had to pay. Thankfully, he is doing very well now.
I understand how you feel about the system. It's one of the main things that's leading us toward a move from the US back to the UK in a couple of years. I want the NHS back! I worry about getting sick over here in case we can't afford it.
I just kept thinking, what if we had to pick which of the tests was
more important than the others because we could not pay to have them
all done at once or if some were not covered…
So precious!
she looks so happy… good girl!
I love her smile! When my younger daughter was two, she needed to have a backpack like her big sister and it was about the size of Clover’s, too!
The health care thing must be so nice. I hope we get something worked out here, in the US. My family is fortunate to have health insurance, but there are so many here, who don’t.
What a little trooper! The cotton ball and tape in the crease of her arm makes me sad but her face makes up for it.
Yeah, I don't have health insurance and I haven't been feeling too well lately. I wish I had the option to just go get checked out without the fear of "how do I pay?"
*sigh*
so many things that need to be resolved.
these photos are so precious. her little arm in a bandaid and that that proud smile. Glad she can get the care she deserves.
What a brave little girl! Look at that smile, and those sparkling eyes! She obviously enjoyed the alone time
) She is so darn adorable!
so brave. spoiling definitely helps with that.
Stay healthy wee one!
i did! it won't happen often.
9 tubes of blood drawn!? She is one tough cookie! She is my rock star! I'm so glad to hear that she gets good health care there.
too cute! clover looks great even after having all she has been through. you are very lucky to live where the health care system makes sense. we can only with, in the us that reform will come. hope all is well with the results.
She looks so peaceful and happy…. such a gorgeous photo of lil' Clover.
oh my,what a champ she is! and she even still manages to be smiling big!!
hope the test results are good!
American needs to take a note from Australia. I'm glad something is finally getting done over hear to change healthcare, but between now and when things are (hopefully) working well, it's going to be tough. It's a nice thing to say "health care for everyone! Mandatory!" But I still don't know how people like my parents, who are self employed, are going to pay for it. I'm lucky enough to be on my husband's health care plan, but I still worry about all the out of pocket on top of the monthly bills. It's too crazy.
Good job, Clover, though! She looks so happy and proud!
She’s too cute !
