in between bursts of rain we set out to just get out. i grabbed my phone for the walk for one reason…the camera on it.
one thing we stressed on our photography panel at BlogHer was that whatever camera you have, it is not going to take very many great photographs sitting in your bag at home.
it is not the gear, but how you use it. even more simple, that you actually use it at all.

i love how a one block walk is a world of adventure to children.

once again the vignette app for the android phone does not disappoint. i really love what it does with black and whites.

I am sort of addicted to my iPhone hipstamatic app. these are really nice.
These are great photos! What phone hardware do you use, if you don’t mind me asking? I am about to purchase new phone… tossing up between HTC Desire and Sony Ericsson Xperia… But really, completely lost!
I have the HTC Desire and then bought the Vignette app for it…
As you say, taking photos is what it is about.
Getting your finger out and doing it is what counts, yet I suffer the old problem if not doing so. iPhone and ZI8 in a pocket yet I still don’t shoot. I really need to do more. You might have just inspired me a little.
Thanks.
that app kicks ass.
Cool pictures. My daughter takes her camera everywhere. I don’t always bring mine! LOL!
Amazing photos! ( ;
I also love black & white photos.
I’m always torn on whether or not to use one of the camera apps for my phone, or take it regular and process it later. Of course, what ends up happening is I don’t process it.
That probably answers my question, yes?
exactly, miss britt.
I *LOVE* the Vignette app. I specifically chose my phone for the camera’s megapixels and image quality. When I downloaded the app and saw what my phone was capable of, I went berserk and haven’t stopped taking pictures. I’ve discovered an entirely new style of photography. The dslr is feeling a little neglected, though, and I still haven’t really figured out how to make a phone call.

Using any camera you have is way better than not using any at all. Cool app
Beautiful Photos Rachel!!!! Your kids are so so so beautiful!!!!!
i love how you see the beauty in every little thing. every.little.thing.
xo
I learned this: Photographers are photographers no matter what camera they hold. My friend Ashley took an AMAZING photo with my iPhone of me climbing. I can’t get shit to turn out pretty. She can make literal shit TURN OUT PRETTY.
You people and your eye for things. Talent, baby.
drool. you’re really making me wanna get an android. it RULES.
did you buy it or just using the free one?
i bought the full version…worth every penny!
