cause look at what i can do.
no hands!

i have been taking pole dancing fitness classes for 6 months now, and i love it. i feel stronger than i have in my life and i have met some amazing and powerful women. not to mention, the class is a blast. it may be hard to get motivated to leave the house at 8:30pm after all are fed and the kids are sleeping. usually, i just want to get into jammies and collapse on the couch with my laptop, husband and tv. i have to remind myself that i have not been anything but inspired as soon as i get to class.
so out the door i go and challenge myself to do things that look impossible. like hanging upside down with no hands, for one.
i never thought i would ever do anything with a pole. really. poles are only for strippers (or firemen), right? wrong. very wrong.
pole dancing is the little secret that i carry around behind my smile. it counteracts all those preconceived notions that go along with the title (that i proudly wear) of an almost 40 year old mom of 3.
i finally remembered to ask someone to take a quick photo tonight. can’t wait to see what i never thought i could do next.
what about you?

I’ve heard a lot of great things about pole dancing classes, I wouldn’t mind trying them but unfortunately my area doesn’t have any classes.
Wow, good for you! I’m glad you are enjoying it!
Rachel, that is awesome! Seriously, I’m really, really impressed. It looks like so much fun.
Wow, you look awesome hanging from that pole!! Have you gotten one installed in your house yet? ;-D My little secret is bellydance. It’s a fun way to enjoy some me time away from the baby, get a bit of exercise, and be all womanly and stuff.
“Can’t wait to see what I never thought I could do next”. You are awesome, girl.
Awesome! Congrats. I think pole dancing classes would be so much fun, especially after I’m a bit older and have a little more ‘life experience’ under my belt. It would be awesome to be a pole dancing mommy!
wow! that is an amazing achievement! and also to be sticking with one thing for so long : )

So cool. I was worried about keeping my ‘pole dancing’ going now that I’m a mum. Can you imagine the playground conversations … !? But now you’ve given me the kick I needed to get back to it

Another great post. This is so inspiring. You look sensational and so strong and even though I can’t see your face I can imagine the smile.
Wow, seriously cool that you are able to do that….
So awesome! Well, you know that I’ve been delving into running and stuff. I did what I thought I would never do in NYC. I ran my first 5K!
