city adventures, pretty italian shoes and i predict gemma runs off with a circus someday.

by sesame on April 10, 2011

we took the kids and some friends into the city today. despite getting soaked in a sudden downpour, or maybe partly because of it, we had a wonderful day. i love that it is so easy to get on a train in my neighborhood and then a short time later be in the heart of such an active city. we were there to see a show, but so much else was going on at the same time…it really is always that way here in melbourne. i know that all big cities are like that, but this one just makes it so easy to get out and go to the stuff. oh and in that right photo above, mygodwouldyoujustlookatherlegs i have never seen anything quite as striking…they were as long as the girls are tall.

last weekend we had come in to see the free comedy festival kid’s show in federation square and it was so great that we made a special trip back in again. the two highlights for us were this nutty little orchestra from italy called brassvole who really gets the crowd up and dancing. their music is so playful and bright. they throw italian chocolate at the audience too…what is not to love?

total sidenote…i LOVE her shoes. i am hoping that on our trip to italy next month, i might just find a pair for myself. what are the odds she got them somewhere else, i mean, that would be just my luck. i could have asked her but i really did not know how to say “amazing baritone sax you play there, but can we talk about your shoes?” in italian.

and of course the fantastic, duo hoops. a canadian cabaret/vaudville/circus/acrobatic/hula-hooping/juggling/comedy act. gemma is their biggest fan and if she runs off and joins the circus one day, i am totally blaming them.

melbourne still impresses me each time we venture out and explore it. i am grateful that we can call this place home…at least until gemma runs off with that circus.

ps: i went to find both acts on facebook and like their pages, but neither one had them, dangit.

“Dove hai comprato le vostra scarpe? Mi piacciono.” Now you will never miss out on another pair of shoes. (Don’t know about the baritone sax, but that wasn’t really pertinent to the question.) Buon divertimento in Italia il mese prossimo!.

*gasp*… those pins are incredible!! If it weren’t for that tail light looking like a ford/holden, I’d think the pik was taken in LA considering her skin colour :) Geesh… I am so insecure about my anatolian thunder thighs but atleast I can find pants that fit and can tailor them. Imagine finding pants for legs that long. Guess tall peeps have there clothing struggles too :)
