The Beyond Snapshots blog is an ever evolving project. We are really thrilled to be featuring photographers and their personal photo stories in the Life Is A Photo Op series and this week we started something new. Once a week we will be pulling a word from our inspiration jar (Page 63 if you have the book!) and posting it on our Facebook page. Use the word as a prompt and sometime during the week photograph and post what that word means to you. We all have such different journeys and tales to tell resulting in a myriad of ways one word can be translated into imagery. We plan on featuring some of the submissions shared on a weekly wrap up post.
This week, the word is Today. It is such a great word to begin with for so many reasons, and for me it is the universality of it all. One thing you and I have in common is today. Mine might be just another day that is soon forgotten, blending into the many others that make up my story. For you, today could be huge. It could be the beginning or an end. It is such a haunting thought that as I type this on what is just another regular old day, somewhere the same today was life changing for so many others.
So my today meant no makeup and work in a quiet house, another bout of asthma that sent me to bed for 30 minutes, a tired school kid zoning out in front of “big kid” TV (since the twins were not yet home) and a couple of hot cups of milky tea in my favorite mug.

Join us in posting images from words. It can be on Instagram with your iPhone or maybe it prompts you to dust off your own blog. Show us your world weekly (use #BeyondSnapshots on Twitter or IG) and then share the links on our Facebook page.
Start Today.
