Today I had a shoot from around 8:30 to nearly 5. With (I-forgot-to-count-how-many) 15 kids and 65 or so outfits, that barely left me time for a wees-break. My 10 on 10 was due today and since I had missed June, I did the best I could. I have missed being inspired by the gorgeous posts from all the others in my 10 on 10 circle. Don’t forget to follow the link at the bottom of each post to travel the world via blog posts! I have also missed the monthly challenge of photographing over an entire 10 hour span in one day. I like to take each month’s “ten” with a theme. This month is a bit esoteric, but is about looking at the contrasts. The images I created today for work are sharp, bright and colorful, but my ten reflect the day as it was outside our happy little studio bubble…dark, rainy and with a distinct chill.
I drove into work as the grey lifted and headed home as it descended once again.

Please now head on over to the decidedly warmer 10 on 10 post from Central Washington Family Photographer, Mary Collier!
Next month I will be posting my ten from the road as I am headed to America! In preparation, I have a series of posts planned to help other Australians who are going to BlogHer12, the first of which went up yesterday.

Pure Awesomeness! Your Photos Always Inspire Me! <3
I love these 10 on 10s. Is there a way to join group?
love seeing your beautiful dreariness while we’re sweltering here in the south!
I like the peek inside your studio.
I always enjoy getting a peek inside your life, Rachel. What a fabulous studio you have! Inspiring! xoxo
I WISH this was my studio, but it is one that we rented for the day-long shoot. I will be using it again and again though, for sure! And if I ever DO have a studio, this will be a great model on how to do it right!
All that grey looks so familiar! I love the studio shot with the girl sitting in the foreground. Knowing your work, I bet these are a big contrast, but equally beautiful in their story-telling ways.
I had to stop and stare of that BW with Gemma on the flore with bare feet. Love your rainy day- they are the BEST!
