I love blogging. I really do, but a lot of times I just don’t have the skill to craft the words that would accurately tell you what I am desperate to say. My images though…I can trust them to tell my story.

Often times I get disappointed at blogging events because panels on imagery are an afterthought. There are so many bloggers out there who are using few words, but taking their “readers” on journeys everyday. Photobloggers are creating content for brands, they are publishing books, they are sharing their recipes, outfits, crafts, reviews, renovations and travels…and we are following along! I am so proud to be part of an event that will be all about the visual aspect of blogs where pictures are the language. From finding your voice, through practical tips and on to my panel with Amanda where we will focus on the power and importance of visual storytelling, there is going to be so much information (not to mention swag!). It is an honor to be amongst these other bloggers who are sharing their worlds and their knowledge…it is just so exciting.
And it is about time!

I’m really excited about this. I really want to improve my photography for my blog and to capture my family’s life.
This is probably the sort of session I need to attend. Someone once said my blog was about words but really photography and I shied away from that like some shy away from the term “mummy/mommy blogger”. I don’t know why I did that since I am finding an increasing love for photography and visual images. Too bad I won’t be in NYC though I’d go in a heartbeat if I could! Good luck with it.
I wish I could hang out in your pocket or somewhere during this event. Too bad you’re not in Florida, like Orlando or Miami…I’d be there in a heartbeat!
I really wish that I could attend. I was just in NYC and since it is a 10 hour drive from where I live I don’t think I can go back right now. Hoping there are more events like this one so I can go another time.
I just bought Beyond Snapshots, the e-book and I just have to say I’m amazed by everything my professors at my university failed to teach. I’m very, very grateful for all the effort you and Peta put into this book. I wasn’t feeling very confident about photography and now I actually feel motivation to pick up the camera and snap about, even if I don’t have tiny models other than pets.
Thank you so much for sharing the knowledge!
Pleasure meeting you on the long flight over. Hope your event is great. Like the blogshots so far and looking forward to your pictorial storytelling take on the blogisphere. Safe journeys.
It was great meeting you as well! Looking forward to keeping up with you on your blog!
I am so happy to have stumbled here….this would’ve been an incredible journey to go to such an event! I look forward to following more of your journey and work!
