Heading out to the states in 3 days where I will be making a bee-line to Target, TJ Maxx and Loehmanns for some clothes shopping, but while I am flying into summer, the winter is turning to spring here. That means that (slowly) the kid fashion ranges I have shot over the last few months are being released.

Peta has come over from New Zealand for a few days as we are shooting a kid clothing line on Saturday morning… Nothing like down to the wire with deadlines to keep me fuelled with pure anxiety!

In there, I am still crafting my panel with Amanda from Everyday Elements for the Blographer event at Adorama. If you are in NYC next week, come and spend a day with us and a lot of other great photo-bloggers!
The bottom image was shot while out ona walk today with my new Tamron 24-70mm f/2.8 lens. I have not had a good zoom in such a long time, what a treat it is to have so many focal length options in one! Tamron has a great contest at the moment, Widen Your Horizons, and if you enter, you will have a chance to win some Tamron gear of your own! Make sure you check it out!

See you next week!

Hi Rachel.. found you via Katrina @ Media Maid… the bloggers are talking all things NYC. I lived in the USA during the late 90′s for almost 4 years & I am going ‘home’ next month traveling solo with my 10 year old daughter to LA & NYC, so I am scouring for info about sim cards, places to see, eat etc… one thing I would be grateful for some brief feedback about is I would love to buy a decent camera. Unfortunately I am a point & click girl, but would love to learn how to use a camera at some stage. Would prefer something compact but not sure if I should buy a body & lenses even though I am clueless right now on how to use them properly, what camera to buy, where to buy & if I should wait & buy it OS? Any feedback gratefully received. Cheers, Amanda
It is hard to say what you should get without a budget in mind. If you want a GREAT but expensive point and shoot, look at the Fuji X series of cameras… If you want to go up to a DSLR, look at the Nikon D3200, it is a great little camera for a good price! I am not at all sure what point and shoot cameras are best at the moment though!
