It is hard to say what you should get without a budget in mind. If you want a GREAT but expensive point and shoot, look at the Fuji X series of cameras… If you want to go up to a DSLR, look at the Nikon D3200, it is a great little camera for a good price! I am not at all sure what point and shoot cameras are best at the moment though!

Hi Rachel.. found you via Katrina @ Media Maid… the bloggers are talking all things NYC. I lived in the USA during the late 90′s for almost 4 years & I am going ‘home’ next month traveling solo with my 10 year old daughter to LA & NYC, so I am scouring for info about sim cards, places to see, eat etc… one thing I would be grateful for some brief feedback about is I would love to buy a decent camera. Unfortunately I am a point & click girl, but would love to learn how to use a camera at some stage. Would prefer something compact but not sure if I should buy a body & lenses even though I am clueless right now on how to use them properly, what camera to buy, where to buy & if I should wait & buy it OS?
