I tend to feel trapped by resolutions and progress to feeling like a failure when I let them lapse. I am resolute in wanting to make changes, but I need flexibility to accommodate my personality flaws.

I have given myself projects this year so that I can manage my time better. (See how I just got out of making “Manage my time better” an actual resolution?) Most things will be shared on the blog so when I falter here and there, can we all just pretend that it is quirky and endearing and move on?
So what are a few things on the project list for 2013?
Our Year of Thursdays
The release of littleSIDEKLICK!
A rebuilt website for my photography.
Running a 10K and beating my 5K time on a regular basis.
Healthier eating, Pescatarian style! Which also means that I will need to learn to cook, but we get to keep eating sushi.
I have a ton of projects around the house that I would LOVE to see finished. Since we tend to be long-lead thinkers and spontaneous, who knows when these will get ticked off the list, but you can be sure that once we decide they are to be done, they are done in a flash. For example, just this week, the long held dream of bunk beds for the twins was put into action. In a space of three days, bunk beds were sourced on eBay, built and the old toddler bed sold on Gumtree.

The element of surprise…that is how we roll. Keeps the kids on their toes.
What is in your project folder for 2013?

Love this. I can totally relate to how your family works on projects — spontaneously! That’s exactly how we do it too.
Love the twins new bed — so fun!

I sort of mentioned it on your Sesame Ellis post a little bit ago (Im apparently catching up on blog reading a bit backwards). I dont love “resolutions” either. I prefer goals. Or this year- themes. I feel like a failure when I dont meet a resolution. And so many of mine are not something that I reach a certain point and say “there! I did what I resolved to do!” Its more of an ongoing process…
LOVING the twins bunk beds. I have the curtains that match Kieran’s duvet. In the closet. Waiting. Sigh. One of these days Ill get my boys room together!
