School starts up a new calendar year next week so it was perfect timing that we were offered tickets to go and see the latest travelling Disney stage production, Disney Live! presents Mickey’s Rockin’ Road Show. The kids had all seen the ads for it on television and were really excited to go! Especially Kieran who was beside himself thinking that Mickey AND Buzz Lightyear would be on stage…in person…together. We got the dog walked and snacks packed and headed to the city to meet our friend Cintia and daughter, Emma, for the 1PM show yesterday at Melbourne Convention Center’s theatre, The Plenary.
The show was delightful and the kids enjoyed being encouraged to get up and dance and sing scream along! There was a little bit of something Disney for everyone from classic characters, to princesses, cowboys and even space rangers!
After the show we were treated to a quick meet and greet with Mickey and Minnie. The kids were so excited to be able to go on stage and meet the characters for a photo opportunity. They even pocketed some of the confetti from the show that did not make it up to our seats! You are welcome, Disney Live!, for the unpaid cleanup crew!
Energized and happy, we were home by 4PM where the twins spent the rest of the evening reenacting the show and putting their own spin on it.
This morning Kieran woke up still talking about it and asking to go back. I wanted to know what his favorite part was, but he could not narrow it down. His answer was: “All of it.” If you are in Melbourne, the show is only on for one more day. After it leaves here, you can catch it in Tasmania, then it heads to the mainland for four more Australian cities. For more tour information visit www.disneylive.com.au

They are preschool Imene Said Kouidri and next year (school year starts in Feb) they will be in the Aussie version of US Kindergarten.
