
Someday this will become easy. That is the day that I will push myself harder.
I don’t run for ease.
I run because it is difficult. I run to prove to myself that I can not only survive something painful, but enjoy it as well. I run to think and process life.
The repetition of my feet hitting the ground helps to pound my thoughts into a more manageable form.

I’ve been a runner (learning how to run, really!) for a little over a year, and this post of yours exemplifies the exact reasons why I do it, why I love it. One of the main ones is the repetition, steady and sure, like ocean waves. I’ve never been particularly athletic, but it turns out I really love to run… even if I still can’t run very fast or very far. I’m getting there! Thanks for sharing, your blog is great.
