My closet employs a limited color palette of grays, browns, blacks and navy. That is fine by me. My comfort zone is not in the rainbow. I do love me some stripes and a splash of bright color as an accent. Overall though, I am an understated dresser.
One benefit of being an ex-pat is that I wander into stores here to look at something cute because I see something cute…I have no idea if the store is cool or not. That is why I have beautiful yellow jeans and every time I get a compliment on them, people are surprised to find out they come from Katies at the mall. “My mum shops there!” they say and I just smile and think, “Cool mum!”
And if that wasn’t shocking enough, I love to follow up with the fact that my awesome top was only $4 on sale at my local Coles… Right between the shampoo aisle and the diapers.
Seriously, Australian women, if you like simple, comfortable, and well made clothes for a good price, get yourself to the grocery store! Mix Apparel is awesome. Or you could order online. I did that too.

For under $100, I have given myself a new wardrobe that will last me right through fall by shopping the sale only section. Four T-shirts, 1 tank top, 3 jumpers, a sweatshirt and two pairs of Capri pants!
All neutral (OK, except for the yummy orange sweatshirt) so they will be pieces I can use for a while.

Mix has clothes for kids and men too, but my family is always better dressed than I am, so this post is about ME!
The best part of the Mix apparel thing is that if something does not fit, you can return it to any Coles…when you do your food shopping for the week. Convenient style, I love it.
PS :: A real fashion blogger would have ironed the clothes for the pictures… I do have an iron. Somewhere.

Thank you THANK you for making nice things for Aussie women Mix Apparel
I love the clothes at Coles! They have such cute comfy clothes.
$6 cardigan? Seriously?! These look awesome
That’s exactly why I had to blog about them!
Even if Rachel found the iron, she would not know what to do with it.
Yes, that is your job, darling husband. That is what DH means, right? Not D$%^head?
I think its perfect! So you are not a fashion victim, myself I can’t beat the feeling of a great charity shop find. : )
Looks like the kind of clothes I would buy. I tend to stock on blues, beiges and blacks then add splashes of color. Usually a scarf, a cardigan or my shoes. These prices are totally awesome!
Comfy clothes are right up my alley! Mine are not even as cute as the Mix, which I don’t think we have over here.
Levi’s and Life is Good is what I would wear everyday if i could.
