Today is the celebration of 100 years for Gemma’s school. They were all allowed to comb through old class photos and find an era that they would like to replicate in appearance for today. Gemma was drawn to the 1940s. We took a few photos in the backyard before she went off this morning.
We talked about our friend, Rachel, who passed away last year as she went to that school as a child. She promised to show Gemma her favorite little hidden spaces, but never got the chance. I told Gemma that maybe she would come and whisper it to her in a dream.
The dress was a hand-me-down from Gemma’s godsister, Harper. It was handmade for Harper by a great aunt. I love feeling surrounded by history.
