There is so much going on right now! The sun is shining, my website is finally being updated, exciting trips are just around the bend and the kids are on holidays for two weeks starting today! That means a serious staycation is in order as we all explore and have fun together in gorgeous Melbourne! The troop of Barbies has moved into the back garden with their camper van, cruise ship and community swimming pool. We have the playhouse to finish up, a small garden to put together and frankly, I feel a giant spring cleaning coming on.
Of course, I still must work, but since I love what I do, I am not complaining! I just need to save some time when I can. A few weeks ago, I stumbled across a tweet that led me to check out some new ACR presets from Totally Rad called Replichrome. So much work went into building the set, that I was intrigued and bought them on the spot. They have been used ever day since then. I am even thinking of installing Lightroom on my laptop so that I can see the previews (can’t see them in ACR) as I play. I went with the Adobe Creative Cloud earlier this year and so far have only used Photoshop and ACR…time to get my money’s worth there and download the latest copy of Lightroom as well. Plus, when you buy Replichrome, you are getting ACR and Lightroom files in that one download! I keep returning to two Replichrome stocks in particular (Fuji Pro 400H – Noritsu and Fuji Pro 800Z – Noritsu but with the grain either reverted or set to + 160S) as they work well with both my Fuji and Nikon files. I would like to see what the others do before clicking on them and I love that Lightroom lets you do just that.
After being so happy with the Replichrome set, I had a look around the entire site. I make my own actions (I no longer sell RAW presets…my re-done action site will be back online by December, but no longer selling the presets, and the only ones I now use are the ones I bought from Totally Rad) and so I was not looking for anything in that department, but then RADlab caught my eye. It is a totally different thing from actions and with a 15 day free trial, how could I resist? Four days into the trial and I bought that too. What a clever plug-in for Photoshop. It is kind of like using their killer PicTapGo app on the computer. Now that I am addicted to the ease and fun of all things Totally RAD, I will work on my master plan of convincing them to make a PicTapGo app for Android so I don’t have to keep using my iPod for that one.
I will have a giveaway and a coupon code for all things Totally Rad in the coming week, so please come on back and see my RADlab recipes, screenshots and more samples. Right now, there are three kids that need me to go throw some water balloons at them in the back garden! Throw stuff at my kids? YES, PLEASE!
