10 on 10 :: The Gypsy edition.

We all go through life stages, don’t we? The last decade for me has been about building a family and creating our home. Now that we no longer have babies to base our schedule around, I am starting to feel the pull of a more gypsy existence. I don’t think I could give up our house just yet, but the week in a camper van has planted a seed. I can feel its itinerant tendrils grabbing at my soul. Here are my 10 lines of photographs this month from Tasmania.

One of the days we spent on a boat. For a few moments the captain took us through the harbor heads and into the open ocean. This particular entrance is called Hell’s Gates because of how treacherous it was to cross. I wondered about all the ships that tried to make it out or in over the years. As I stood on the deck and braced against the angry swells, my childhood memories came rushing back. I was ready for adventure. I want my children to feel that excitement. I want them to be up off the couch and out of WiFi range. Since the sea does not agree with Alec, I believe ours will have to be a land ship. I am fine with that as well.

The light and weather on this day changed from moment to moment as you will see.

So good to be back in the 10 on 10 blog round robin after missing a month. Sail over the seas in your computer browser to the gorgeous shores of Hawaii and see what Wendy Laurel has for you this time. It is stunning to see the light and colors that make up her world.

  • Amanda Keeys - The idea of a gypsy-esque lifestyle has always appealed to me. With the six kids though I don’t think we’ll ever get around to it. Maybe when they’re all grown and moved away and I’m constantly travelling to visit each one? haha.
